With 35 years of experience in the Hospitality industry, Kent brings a wealth of knowledge from both a Kitchen and Service perspective. 

Kent has honed his cooking skills, first in his own restaurant in London, ON, then cooking around the world at some of the best Michelin starred restaurants on the planet. In 2010, Kent completed his Bachelor of Education and moved to Ottawa, furthering his learning from his student’s diverse food background in the Culinary Program he has spearheaded for the last 13 years. 

Always looking to expand his knowledge and skill set, Kent sees food as a great adventure, a love affair of learning that will last a lifetime.  As part of his “life long learner” model, Kent still spends time in restaurants cooking and collaborating. 

As enthusiastic as Kent is about cooking, he loves to eat!  As an avid diner and supporter of local restaurants, Kent spent 10 years as the food critic for CBC Ottawa’s In Town and Out radio program.  Passionate about cooking seasonally and responsibly, Kent and his team are constantly striving to work with local producers to find the best possible products to make your event truly memorable.

Along with his passion for food, Kent has an equal passion for social responsibility and the desire to help make his industry more inclusive, more equitable and more accessible.  A long time supporter of Parkdale Food Centre, Kent hopes to use more of his “free” time to volunteer and help support the work of this organization.

In addition to working as a Private Chef/Catering, Kent is also available to teach cooking classes or present as a Guest Speaker

We are based in the Ottawa-Gatineau Region but willing to travel.
